February 3, 2011 -by
Jephren Perez - Pi Kappa Phi celebrates
its 10th anniversary of chartering at Florida
International University today. In just ten
short years, our chapter has grown and flourished
into a group of successful and well-known
leaders on campus.
This group of men has worked together throughout
the past 10 years to accomplish many great
things, including supporting our national
philanthropy, Push America. To date, the brothers
of Theta Delta chapter have raised over $150,000
towards helping those with disabilities, Additionally,
many men from our chapter have participated
in Push America's various summer events, ranging
from riding a bicycle from Miami to Tallahassee
in Florida, to riding one from the Pacific
Ocean to Washington D.C. and even participating
in Build America, where brothers traverse
multiple states to help make places more accessible
for people with disabilities.
Our chapter has seen many great leaders during
the past decade, ranging from Morale Captains
in Dance Marathon to the Student Government
Association president and more. Brothers have
served as the overall director of FIU's Homecoming
celebration, Peer Advisors for the university's
incoming freshmen, and as presidents of various
other student organizations. Many of our brothers
have gone on to great success beyond their
college years and have found career opportunities
through the help of fellow brothers.
Founding father Alain Sanchez sums it up well:
"If it wasn't for its founders 10 years
ago, there wouldn't be a Theta Delta chapter
of Pi Kappa Phi at FIU today, But if it wasn't
for the hard work of all its alumni and (especially)
active brothers, there wouldn’t
be a leading Theta Delta chapter
of Pi Kappa Phi at FIU today. As always I’m
very proud to be a Theta Delta founder and
I thank you all for keeping our dream alive
for the last 10 years and hopefully the same
can be done for many more decades. God bless
our fraternity."

April
24, 2010 - We would like to congratulate
miss Carolina Soria as she was named our newest
Rose Queen. We bestow this title upon her
in recognition for her outstanding support
and contributions to the chapter. Thank you
Caro; we look forward to an amazing year with
you!

- Incase you weren't there, we surpassed our
goal of $2,000! Overall the event went amazing.
Big shout out to all of you who were there
the majority of the night and into the wee
hours of the morning. The candle light vigil
was beautiful and we had a great amount of
people out there for it being at 3:00a.m.
on a Wednesday morning. Once again, it's people
like you who make events like these a success,
and if it wasn't for your generosity we would
have never reached our goal. You're all amazing!
As always, your continued support of the Anthony's
Light Foundation is deeply appreciated. May
his spirit live on in all of us. For more
information, please visit the Anthony's Light

February
16, 2010 - The brothers of Pi Kappa
Phi Theta Delta would like to extend our congratulations
to Jined Lamata for winning our 2010 Miss
PUSH America Pageant. We look forward to a
great year ahead working with her on all of
our PUSH events. Thank you to each and every
contestant and to everyone who came out to
support. We couldn't have done this without
all of you!
Push America was founded in 1977 by Pi Kappa
Phi Fraternity with the purpose of instilling
lifelong service in its members and enhancing
the quality of life for people with disabilities.
Push America is still fulfilling the purpose
it was intended for, but has grown into a
nationwide organization with numerous programs
educating undergraduates, alumni, and communities
about the abilities of people with disabilities.

we do, visit our website at www.pushamerica.org.
